Quick two-hour trip from Slawtas to Lousiville, arrived in time to visit Churchill Downs and see museum and get a paddock tour. Stayed overnight at hotel right at gate #4 of the fair. Walked to fair at opening. Lots of cows, and goats and poultry. Hundreds of bunnies and we walked every row. All of the animals seemed very spirited and lively.
Saw an interesting dog show with an albino Doberman, mini collie and rat-terrier. Very cool 3-motorcycle stunt show with a very short course, yet jumps with backflips.
95% of the exhibits were indoors. The decorated cakes exhibit was fun. This was the first time we have seen aquarium judging! Different agriculture stuff than usual, such as tobacco and sorghum.
No horse access due to strict drug testing rules for World Horse Show. Immaculate and fancy stable areas as you might expect for Kentucky.
