Georgia

This was the first of a 4-fair road trip which we later dubbed “Fairathon 2018”. We tried to attend the Georgia fair in 2017 but were hampered by hurricane Irma. This fair was a complete disappointment. It was situated in the corner of the Atlanta Motor Speedway property, and had absolutely no Georgia state exhibits. No 4H, no agriculture, no crafts, nothing. Other than cell phone vendors, a cookware vendor, and a sugar-glider merchant, it was entirely midway attractions. For this, they wanted $10 admission and $5 parking. We watched the pig races and daredevil show (Lisa really enjoyed that part). That was part of the same exhibitor that hosted the circus and petting zoo at the Delaware state fair. On the way out we did go into a Monarch butterfly cage. It was run by a nice lady who comes up from Florida and simply does the exhibit as a hobby.
